Earth Day with Joma: Taking care of the environment

Every April 22, globally recognized Earth Day, confronts us with challenges that damage the environment. This year, the motto "Invest in our planet" unites governments, companies and citizens. At Joma, one of the leading global and national sports brands, we strive to communicate our commitment to the environment.

Joma Positive Life: Our Strategic Social Commitment Plan

In 2021, we introduced the Joma Positive Life Strategic Social Commitment Plan. We have selected areas of activity that need support and found themselves in a vulnerable state, including sports.

Sustainable production: no plastic

At Joma, we are taking steps to completely eliminate the use of plastic in our production. We focus on sustainable sportswear and sustainable materials such as recycled polyester and organic cotton. These materials contribute to the health of the environment. For example, recycled polyester is made from recycled materials, including PET bottles, and its production reduces CO2 emissions by 75% and eliminates the use of oil. We are integrating this material into many official #JomaTeam kits such as soccer kits.

We have also replaced polluting plastic in packaging with sustainable materials such as recycled cardboard and biodegradable plastic bags.

Use of renewable energy and reduction of consumption

Since January 2023, half of the energy we generate at Joma comes from solar panels. We have installed 1,510 m2 of photovoltaic modules at our headquarters, which has enabled us to reduce our dependence on petroleum products. Our long-term plans are aimed at the full use of renewable energy sources.

We have also switched to long-lasting, low-energy light bulbs as part of responsible consumption.
