Preference should be given to natural fur. It's easy to distinguish from artificial: natural fur has an even, matte sheen, while synthetic fur has shiny bristles. Natural fur retains heat better and provides the right microclimate for the foot.

Suede shoes are impractical for daily winter wear: they do not tolerate moisture and the reagents sprinkled on sidewalks well. But if you spend little time outside or want a spectacular festive option, suede is acceptable with proper care.

Flawless appearance Any scratches, loose seams, or stains are signs of a poor-quality product. Inspect the shoes in daylight from all sides.

Heel and toe hold their shape These areas should have special stiffeners inside. Press on the heel: if it bends or shifts, look for another model.
