Tapi history: from a Rabka workshop to European export
Production started at home. The eldest of the Żurów family stitched the first pairs in his own house in Rabka-Zdrój, and that craft workshop became the foundation of the company now known as Tapi.

The family registers the trademark and picks a narrow niche: men’s leather footwear, no women’s or children’s lines.
1990s
Move to Jordanów
The factory relocates to neighbouring Jordanów in Lesser Poland and still operates there today.
Several operations remain manual: sorting hides by thickness, finishing raw edges, painting the welt at the final stage. Two pairs of the same article may therefore differ slightly in shade, which is how footwear looks when a conveyor does not stamp it out.
The Tapi men’s range
The factory catalogue rests on four groups. Inside each one the last, the leather type and the sole change, so you can match a pair to a suit or to jeans.
Office
Oxfords and derbies
Closed lacing, smooth full-grain leather, a narrow or rounded toe. The default choice for business suits, weddings and negotiations.
Smart casual
Monk straps and loafers
Laceless construction with a buckle or elastic gore. Passes an office dress code and works with chinos.
Everyday
Brogues and chukkas
Broguing, nubuck and naturally grained leather on a thicker sole. Comfortable through a full working day and after it.

Fleece or natural fur lining, a denser treaded sole, a higher shaft on ankle boots.
Materials and construction
Tapi sources hides from European tanneries and matches thickness to the model: thinner for classic oxfords, heavier for chukkas and winter ankle boots.
A leather lining absorbs moisture and releases it outward, so your foot stays drier than in budget shoes with textile linings.

Tapi size chart and how to measure your foot
In the evening, place your foot on a sheet of paper with the heel against a wall, trace the outline and measure from heel to the longest toe. Measure both feet and use the larger figure.

Three sizing rules
- Leave 0.7–1.0 cm between your toes and the tip of the shoe.
- Add another 0.5 cm for winter pairs worn with thick socks.
- Between two sizes, take the larger one: leather stretches in width, not in length.
The chart gives average values. Exact insole measurements for each article appear in the product description, and an N-SHOES manager checks the pair before dispatch.
Caring for Tapi leather shoes
Leather outlasts the sole if you keep the pair off the radiator and rest it for a day between wears.

Dry at room temperature
Pull the insole out, stuff the pair with paper and keep it away from any heater. Direct heat shrinks leather and cracks it at the flex point.

Treat before the first wear
Apply water-repellent spray to a clean dry pair 12 hours before you go out, then repeat every two weeks in winter.

Feed the leather
Use a colour-matched cream weekly on smooth leather. For nubuck, take a brush with a rubber insert and an aerosol dye.

Hold the shape
Wooden or plastic shoe trees pull out the toe crease and speed up drying.

Wipe off road salt at once
Remove salt stains with a damp cloth the day they appear. Dried de-icing agent eats into the dye.

Use a shoehorn
A shoehorn protects the heel counter. Without one, your heel crushes the stiffener within a season.

Cities and timing
Orders placed before 2 p.m. ship the same day. Kharkiv, Kyiv and Dnipro usually receive the parcel the next day; Odesa, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi within 1–2 days.
We ship with Nova Poshta and Ukrposhta to a branch, a parcel locker or by courier to your address.
Payment
Pay by card on the site, choose cash on delivery, or request a bank invoice for a company account.

Does Tapi run small or large?
The last runs true to the European chart. With a wide foot or a high instep, take one size up and check the insole measurement in the product card.
Are there women’s or children’s Tapi models?
No. The factory produces men’s footwear only. For women’s lines, look at the other Polish brands in the N-SHOES catalogue.
Which pair suits a wedding suit?
Black oxfords in smooth leather on a thin sole. With a navy or grey suit, a dark brown derby works just as well.
Can classic Tapi models be worn in winter?
Uninsulated models suit dry weather down to roughly 0 °C. For frost and wet snow, take ankle boots with fleece or fur lining and a treaded sole.
